100 Book Club
The 100 Book Club is a tradition for first graders at Duncan Creek. Each year the students are challenged to read 100 books by the 100th day of school. Parents may help them log the books, and they will join the club when they turn in all of the book logs. The students who join the club will be recognized during a special ceremony with all of the first grade classes. They will also be given the chance to order a special 100 Book Club t-shirt. These shirts are worn with pride by first graders at Duncan Creek.
Students may log any book that they read outside of classwork. Twenty-five of the 100
books may be read to them by someone else. If the child is reading chapter books, they may log each chapter as a book. They should turn in each log as it is filled. We believe that this program is a great way to encourage kids to read for fun. Please contact me with any questions.
